Birth Doula
My name is Chelsea Wilson and I offer birth doula services in the high deserts of New Mexico. After having two hospital births of my own (one that turned into a C-section and one that ended with forceps assistance) and two home births with a midwife, I have learned the value of protecting the birth space and empowering women with knowledge and choices. I love to support you in whatever environment you choose to birth (home, birth center, or hospital), and my goal is to make sure that you have as much information as possible so that the birth belongs to you and you can confidently say that you made as many choices as possible on your own.
What do I offer?
2 Prenatal Home visits where I teach a child birth education class, breastfeeding education class, and create a birth plan with you
Monthly 30 minute phone calls so we can get to know each other so you are comfortable with me being in your birth space
Unlimited texting support from 9 am - 5 pm with the understanding that it might take me a couple of hours to respond (I have four kids of my own to chase around!)
Support through the duration of your labor with me being on call starting at 38 weeks
2 Post Partum Visits to check on how you are doing adjusting to life with a new baby. During these visits I can assist with troubleshooting breastfeeding issues or recommend a lactation consultant or IBCLC.
